About Florence's father suddenly fell sick. They thought he had malaria but he didn't respond to treatment and eventually passed on. Florence's mother stays in Mbiko in order to support the family. She makes and sells local brew from a rented room which doubles as a bar and the family home. So, the safest place for Florence is to be in school. She likes singing, dancing and playing with dolls.
